I am a big fan of monster movies. Whether is serious pieces such as Aliens, and Cloverfield, to those schlocky monster movies on the Syfy Channel such as Piranhaconda, or all those Lake Placid and Ananconda direct to tv sequels. There is nothing more satisfying than watch monsters duke it out, either battling other monsters or eating people in a delicious, gory, scene of blood and guts. Monsters, as I would like to point out, can be tough for the human protagonist to beat, even in a world where everyone is armed with AR – 15. This is either because of something in the monster arsenal such as a indestructible exoskeleton, or the human victims are vastly out numbered. One media franchise that is making its way in theatres is the Monsterverse. It is a smaller media made universe, unlike Marvel and DC films. It’s movies so far are Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla, and Godzilla: King of mosters. It’s next entry will see two iconic movie mosnters clashing brawn on the big screen this coming March 5th.
This is the movie summary according to Rotten Tomatoes, Legend collide in ” Godzilla vs Kong,” as these mythic adversaries meet in a fight for the ages with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Kong and his protectors take on a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a girl Kong has a unique and powerful bond with. They unexpectedly cross paths with an enraged Godzilla, whom is cutting a path of destruction across the globe. This epic clash between the titans is instigated by unseen forces, and is only the beginning of a mystery residing in the earth core.
Kyle Chandler and Millie Bobbie Brown are to be reprising their roles as Mark and Madison Russel. Forbes.com had brought up a theory that peaked my interest. A couple actually. One is that the Godzilla wreaking havoc across the globe in actually Mechagodzilla in disguise. This was how Mechagodzilla had originally introduced in the old movies. The other theory is that there will be no winner. Now for all we know we will think Godzilla dies, but it will turn out to be Mechagodzilla. That or one of the more obvious endings that could happen in the movie is Kong dies. Remember what Hank said in Kong: Skull Island, ” When Kong dies, the big one will come up” or something like that, I honestly am only paraphrasing. I know that the Kong kills the mother Skullcrawler at the end of the movie, but that film was set back at the end of the Vietnam War. It took place years ago, which means a new mother skull crawler could have moved in. If that happen, and Kong dies, we could see the Skull Crawler comes back in future movies. I would not mind seeing a horror style movies with these creepy lizard in it.
Godzilla vs Kong will rock the world on March 31st, 2021.
